Dogs have their favorite words. Just saying certain trigger words, such as chicken, walk, leash, or outdoors, will immediately elicit a quick response from them. Some dogs who hear the word ‘outdoors’ may bring their leash to their owner. And some dogs who hear the word ‘treats’ may jump up and down in glee.
A woman and her dogs have become viral on TikTok for the same reason. The dogs, namely Motley and Hazel, prove that they know what an exciting thing is by just hearing it – even if they’re eavesdropping!
Motley and Hazel’s trigger words
In the viral TikTok video, Motley and Hazel’s owner pretended that she was on a call. The owner appeared that she was telling someone on the other line about her stroll with her dogs outdoors. She then dropped some trigger words that would catch the attention of her pups. The words included walk, stick, ball, park, and dog park.
While those words were mentioned, Motley and Hazel couldn’t stop tilting their heads. This was usually a sign that they were interested and probably anticipating that their owner would take them to the park or give them a stick.
Apparently, what Motley and Hazel’s owner was doing was a response to a challenge asking dog owners to pretend answering a phone call and use their dogs’ favorite words.
The netizens are swept away by the dogs’ cuteness!
The netizens couldn’t get enough of Motley and Hazel’s cute expressions. Currently, the TikTok video has more than 21 million views, about 2.8 million likes, and over 19K comments.
One commenter said that the dogs’ little head tilts were so cute. Another TikTok user said that he/she would never be over the video. Others seemed to interpret the dogs’ head tilts as their reaction to the incredulous story of their owner, knowing that none of the things she said actually happened.
