When Jessica Banzhof went to a pet store to return some food, she spotted an adorable brindle pittie that was looking so cute in his little sweater. She asked permission to pet him and immediately noticed that the dog didn’t have his own family yet.

The dog’s name is Cupid, and he was at the store because of the Dogs on the Town program. The Lucas County Canine Care and Control in Ohio initiated this program to give exposure to shelter dogs, hoping this would help find their family.

Jessica immediately messaged her husband about the sweet and friendly dog that she just met. She said that they have been wanting a larger dog and thought that Cupid would be perfect.

This happened around the same time when their family was processing the adoption of Gabe, Jessica’s 10-year-old son. For years, Jessica has been a single mother to Gabe. When her husband came into the picture, Gabe instantly had a stepdad who accepted him like his own.

Jessica brought them to meet Cupid. Just like what she expected, they all got along including their three other smaller dogs. She paid for the adoption fee but decided to sleep on it first.

Then, Gabe’s adoption day came. Everyone got so emotional, and after everything was finalized at the courthouse, they went for a celebratory meal. After that, Jessica asked her son to pick their next activity because she didn’t want to stop celebrating yet. Her son told her that he wants to go get his dog, Cupid.

Cupid was thrilled when his new family came to pick him up. They proudly posed together with their adoption certificates. Now, their family has officially become bigger. Like what Jessica said, Cupid was like the little piece that completed the puzzle. They’ve become whole.
