Milan Stojanovic of Dog Rescue Shelter Mladenovac was on his way to work when he spotted a puppy sitting by the side of the busy road. He pulled over and went to investigate. And from a distance, he quickly realized that the poor puppy looked defeated and sad.
He didnât want to spook the puppy away so he carefully and slowly walked toward her. He was so cautious of his steps to make sure she didnât run into traffic. But when she spotted him, she was so happy that someone finally showed up.
The puppy seemed to know that the rescuer was there to help. She couldnât contain her excitement that she ran in all directions. She was so pleased because she knew heâd take her out of that area.
The rescuer walked a little closer and found another dog in the canal. It was a boy that had the same color and built as the first puppy. But he was no longer breathing. He probably got hit by a car and died.
Milan buried the lifeless body of the puppy before leaving. He felt sorry because he didnât get to him earlier. But while he failed to save them both, he knew had the chance of changing another puppyâs life.
From the rescue site, he took her straight to the shelter and gave her a soothing bath. He also had her checked by the vet to make sure she was in great health. And later on, he introduced her to other rescue dogs and named her Nina.
Nina was about seven months old at the time of her rescue. She was incredibly friendly and loving. She was so adorable and her rescuer believed it wonât take long for her to find her forever home, and he was right.
Within a few weeks, Nina left her rescue friends and joined her new family. She found a loving mom and a new dog sibling that adored her. Surely, she found her happy ending.
