Just when you thought NetFlix couldn’t get any more awesome, they’ve added a six-part docuseries on dogs that premiered November 16, 2018.

Simply Titled “Dogs,” this Netflix Original series covers dogs from around the world, and the loyalty and emotional bond between them and their owners.

animals, dogs, domesticated

The six-part series takes place in five countries. Japan, The United States, Costa Rica, Italy, and Syria serve as background to a universal love letter to dogs. Some episodes are quirky and fun, and others are more emotional and heartwarming.

In the episode that takes place in Japan, dogs are dressed to match their owners. In the Syrian episode, a refugee is reunited with his husky. In yet another, a child with epilepsy relies on her service dog to detect seizures. It might be a good idea to have a box of tissues near you.

dog, girl, friendship

The goal of the show is to bring awareness to the treatment of dogs. In a world where so much animal abuse exists, the show inspires us to be kinder to our canine friends.

The idea of the global stories is to help illustrate the universality of dogs’ roles in our lives. This show exhibits the real connection and undeniable love between dog and man. Who doesn’t need a bit of this kind of inspiration in their life? I say, bring it on.

Dogs comfort us every day. They keep us company. They make us feel loved. They help us. They sometimes save our lives. Now there is a Netflix documentary dedicated to them!

If you’re looking for a new show to binge, this is a great recommendation! You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home. You can curl up next to your canine friend and watch it together.
