Stray dogs are usually scared and anxious since the world can be frightening for them and they have no supportive family to turn to for comfort. This is why skilled dog rescuers strive to make each dog feel secure and comfortable.

Cody was a stray pit bull who exhibited great fear. He was caught in a community in California. His rescuers needed many leashes since he would chew on them.

John, the rescuer who discovered Cody, vowed to give the dog as much time as he needs to adjust to his new world. He would wait for several minutes for Cody to become accustomed to a leash. Getting him out of his kennel also required a good amount of time. But despite the inconvenience, John did not mind.

John would visit Cody daily and take him for a stroll. Cody would offer little resistance and obey once he is outdoors. This was repeated until Cody was willing to follow John outside without a leash.

The rescuer observed Cody avoiding a cardboard box near his residence one day. This meant that the dog was still quite afraid. However, this was the ideal chance for John to inspire Cody to overcome his fear.

Cody felt more confident after engaging in frequent walks. He was brought to a dog park where there were many people around and he had little choice but to trust them. John observed Cody improving and becoming more trustworthy during their time there.

John was eventually forced to separate ways from Cody. After the dog’s issues and problems have been overcome, every rescued dog like Cody must find a new forever home.

Cody was fortunate to have been adopted by a huge, loving family.

John was astounded by Cody’s effortless integration into his new home. Cody was brimming with love despite his anxieties and misgivings. He has definitely come a long way.
