With dogs having so much talent, it only goes to figure that there are tons of dog competitions out there that are meant to showcase these brilliant pooches. One of these is a called Heelwork to Music where the dogs and their owners would dance to a piece of music while showcasing the dog’s prowess at heelwork as well as obedience.

Lord of the Dance

Skiffle, also known as “Lord of the Dance,” and his owner Lucy Creek are this year’s winners for the Freestyle Heelwork to Music Competition that Crufts in the United Kingdom recently held. This title got awarded is because of the incredible talent and synchronicity that both of them showed during their performance.

Dance routine

The piece that they performed of dancing to flutes, and because of that, Skiffle started off the performance with his pipe held delicately by his paw. As the routine began, you could see the bond that he and Lucy have as they danced fluidly across the floor. Skiffle didn’t miss a single beat as hi twirled around Lucy’s feet and her.

Flawless performance

It was also clear that they have been practicing their dance moves religiously because Skiffle was able to move between and around Lucy’s legs as she also spun around to the music. He was incredibly precise in his heelwork that was the main factor in judging who would win. His positioning beside Lucy was also flawless, and he never wavered from her side unless to perform a step that they had practiced.

Heelwork to music

Heelwork to music is somewhat new to the dog competition scene but has steadily gained reputation over the years. That is because the owners and their dogs can showcase their training a way that is both more entertaining and enjoyable to all who sees. It also allows the dogs to get a bit more creative than typical heelwork competitions.
