Have you ever made a decision that you wished you didn’t do? All of us have.
John, the owner of a loving bulldog, regretted a decision he made regarding his dog. That remorse became even greater when he received an unexpected call from a dog rescue center one day.
Someone from Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans called him to say that they saw his dog tied outside their building. The person who left the dog put some food and water beside it. The rescuers found a microchip on the bulldog, so they were able to trace its owner.
John was bewildered to receive the call from the rescue center. When he and his family moved to Texas four months ago, he gave the dog to a new owner.
The apartment they were moving into was too small for a bulldog. He felt it wasn’t right to let the dog stay with them, knowing the dog wouldn’t have the space it needed to move around.
John and his family had no choice but to find a new home for their bulldog. It was a difficult decision, especially since the dog had been with them for more than six years. It was not easy to let a family member go, but they were thankful to have found someone who took the dog in.
Unfortunately, months later, the bulldog was found in front of the rescue center. Its leash was tied so it wouldn’t run away. John was both surprised and angry when the rescuers called him about his dog.
John explained the circumstances surrounding his decision to find the bulldog a new owner. He also told them how he regretted that decision because a month after moving to Texas, he and his family were able to move to a bigger house.
Had he known he would be able to transfer houses in just a few weeks, he would certainly have kept his dog. Seeing the authenticity of his story, the rescuers released the bulldog back to John and his family.
The dog obviously missed his human parents. And he couldn’t wait to play with his little human sister. The family rejoiced that the missing piece in their lives was restored.
John made a mistake in letting the dog go. Thankfully, they now have a second chance to make things work. Watch their story in the video below.
