Meet Seven, a Belgian Malinois whose character on the popular TV series “The Walking Dead” is named “Dog.” David Boyd, the show’s story director, asserted that Seven is intelligent and capable of acting well. And we can certainly agree with him.

Including animals in TV series is usually expensive. And it is not that uncommon for them to be dismissed owing to budget constraints. Boyd disclosed that they had attempted to include them previously but did not proceed. But Seven was a different story.

The dog can really do well in a single take! The director and other staff members did not initially have high expectations for him. They anticipated that the dog would require a far longer time to follow what was asked of him. But Seven showed them that they were wrong. He consistently hit his target.

Boyd stated that the Seven was undoubtedly an expert actor. Once, he even spoke with the dog’s trainers to get him to do difficult maneuvers. The trainers did not directly answer “Yes” and instead stated that they were unsure, likely in an effort to temper the director’s expectations. Astonishingly, the dog was able to perform everything the director asked of him.

It would not be difficult for anyone to adore the dog, as he was a magnificent animal.

Seven’s only problem is that he has trouble knowing when to stop. And this is a characteristic of the Belgian Malinois breed. The employees and the dog trainers had to be aware of the extent to which Seven might go.

Once, he was required to pursue a motorcycle. On that day, they had to do their best so that the dog would not be exhausted.

According to the filmmaker, Seven is a terrific and extraordinary dog. Even when it was time for him to say goodbye, he found himself wanting to spend more time with him.
