Because of the difficult times the world is currently experiencing, many doggy daycares have closed shop. This has forced pet owners to become creative in finding ways to keep their pets safe. While some just leave their dogs at home, which poses numerous problems, others have no choice but to take their pets to their workplace.
One FedEx driver from San Diego, Daniel Nava, had the same dilemma. So he took his dogs along with him on his route. His pets, two dachshunds named Cocoa and Chorizo, used to stay at a doggy daycare when he went to work. But with that option closed, taking them along with him was the most viable solution.
What he didn’t foresee is that his pups would become an online sensation.
Hesitant
Daniel was a bit hesitant to bring his pets with him at first. He didn’t know how his supervisors would react to his idea. Nevertheless, he couldn’t just leave his dogs behind all alone. So he built up the courage to talk to them.
Thankfully, his boss was very understanding and only asked him to make sure there will be no safety issues.
Delivery dogs
Cocoa and Chorizo immediately felt at home in the truck. They were well-behaved and would stay still and watch as their dad made his deliveries. The people started noticing the adorable pooches sitting in the large vehicle, and they would sometimes pose for photos with them.
The positive reaction encouraged Daniel. The dog owner would sometimes let his pups join him as he brought packages to his client’s doorways. He even gave them their own FedEx uniform.
Internet-famous
Photos of the two dogs started circulating online. People raved about them, and this prompted Daniel to create an Instagram account for his pets. They quickly started getting followers who eagerly awaited Cocoa and Chorizo’s next adventure.
They may not know that they are famous, but the two dogs are very happy with their new situation. They get to spend the whole day with their dad and a lot of people come up and play with them.
