Residents of a neighborhood in Magnolia, Texas were quite shocked when coyotes wandered into their community one night. They were used to seeing deers coming into their area looking for food, but not these vicious animals. And their unwelcome visit resulted in a heroic act by one dog.

Best friends

Bella and Tasa are next-door neighbors that have developed a very close bond. According to Michael Cobb, the owner of Bella, whenever she sees her best friend outside, she starts whining and tells everyone that she wants to play. As Bella has an invisible fence collar, she can’t just go to the yard next door.

Tasa’s owner, Spencer Williams affirms this and says that the two can become inseparable. It’s difficult to pry them apart after they spend time together.

Their friendship and affection for each other were strengthened one night when a pack of coyotes threatened their safety.

An attack

Michael was awakened one early morning by Bella barking and scratching on their window. Thinking that his Dogo Argentino saw some deer outside, he opened the door and let her out. Bella flew outside the door and started chasing something. Then all of a sudden, she heard her let out a loud yelp.

Michael rushed out of the house and then saw a pack of coyotes surrounding his dog. His sudden arrival scared the wild creatures and they ran away to the darkness. Then from the shadows, a Border Collie came out, bleeding and limping. Tasa was injured by the coyotes.

After reviewing his security tapes, Spencer said that the coyotes entered their yard first and chased Tasa. She dove into their pool to get away, and also tried to enter their back door. But since it was closed, she ran towards Bella’s yard, ignoring the electrical shock of the invisible fence.

Bella must have heard Tasa and wanted to help her friend. And when she was able to go out, she attracted the attention of the coyotes. and that most likely saved Tasa’s life.

The injured pup was brought to a vet where her wounds were cleaned up and she was given antibiotics and pain medication. And soon enough, the two dogs would be playing once again.
