Would you really know what to do if you were lost in a place where you did not know the language or in a place that is totally strange to you? You may experience panic and helplessness. However, this dog with street smarts knew better.

Sergeant Rose and Deputy Soto were out in the field responding to a call in Lee County, Florida. As they were about to return to their patrol vehicle, they observed something near the car door. They quickly discovered that it was a lost dog.

The dog appeared excited to see the approaching officers. It seemed as though he had been waiting for their arrival in order to receive much-needed assistance.

The officers examined the dog’s collar in the hopes of reuniting him with his family. Thankfully, the dog’s collar ID contained all the necessary information and they learned that his name is Hank.

Considering that Hank could be hungry, Deputy Soto decided to give him his food. And when he opened the rear door of the patrol car, the dog immediately leaped inside. Hank appeared quite grateful for the meal and ride.

The authorities then brought the dog to his family. They discovered that Hank’s owner was completely unaware that the dog had escaped and been gone missing. Thankfully, the dog was able to return home so quickly that they were unaware that he went on an adventure on his own. It was also good that his family was spared from the misery of searching for a missing dog.

Hank, despite being a bit daring, is such a street-savvy dog. He knew just what to do if he got lost.

He is lucky that nothing untoward happened to him while he was on the streets and even got the assistance he needed. If not, this would be yet another tragic tale of a lost dog.
