Max is an aggressive pit bull and he was raised in Quebec as a fighting dog. Since he was just a small puppy, he has already been surrounded by violence. He never had the opportunity to receive or give love. He was solely capable of fighting other canines.
It was a good thing that he was allowed a second opportunity to live life. Dog Tales, a non-profit animal rescue group based in Ontario, rescued and adopted him.
Max was seen as dangerous, and the shelter staff was informed of this. During his rescue, he was aggressive and reluctant. He required a muzzle because he would growl and bark. It was probably because of his upbringing that he would never be able to connect with other dogs.
Despite this, he was accepted by the shelter. They intended to change Max’s life. To do that, they first put him in his own kennel and prohibited him from interacting with the other rescue animals.
The team treated him with kindness and affection daily. Unbelievably, it did not take them long to realize that Max was not aggressive. They gradually introduced him to the other occupants of the shelter. Then, it was discovered that the former fighting dog enjoyed playing with their rescue animals.
Max has gained popularity among the shelter dogs that he has been given an important responsibility. He would be among the first to greet incoming rescue canines upon their arrival at the facility. He has become an expert at making the rescue dogs comfortable in their new surroundings.
He befriends the other dogs and leads them throughout the wide yard. Max could spend countless hours with them running and playing.
He has proved to everyone that his past does not matter. He has showed that former fighting canines are deserving of a second chance at life.
