One dog shelter in South Africa organized a short yet unforgettable send-off for one of its dogs after it gets adopted. The said dog, on the other hand, seemed more than pleased with the gesture.

Dogtown South Africa is a sanctuary for dogs that lost their families or were saved from dire situations. One of its residents was Stevie who spent six years at the facility.
A video of Dogtown’s send-off for Stevie had been uploaded to TikTok. In the said clip, you could see the dog being led through a group of Dogtown workers who showered him with warm cuddles and goodbye pats.
The touching video garnered more than one million views, over 156K likes, and 4.3K comments. The netizens’ sentiments were positive.
One commented that whoever adopted Stevie was getting the best dog ever. Another said that the dog was just telling the volunteers that he loved them and wouldn’t forget them.

According to Dogtown South Africa, Stevie is a seven-year-old dog who is a bit of a couch potato. He also loves playing, and he will never deny anyone a game of hide-and-seek or tag. Dogtown South Africa also describes him as a friendly dog who loves cuddles and conversations.
Over the past six years, the shelter did everything that it could to find the dog a new family. When one follower asked the shelter why Stevie was not adopted yet, the shelter replied that they could never understand why he was often overlooked.
But all of that is in the past now. Stevie is definitely enjoying a new life full of love and care.
