Redland Rock Pit Abandoned Dog Project, and Furever Bully Rescue are two Florida-based rescue organizations. They normally collaborate to feed abandoned dogs in Redlands, Florida since the area is infamous for being a dumping spot for unwanted dogs, which is really awful as it sounds.

One sad day in February, Natalie Oliveri, the president of Furever Bully Love Rescue, discovered a dog that she knew had been horribly tortured. According to her coworkers, they had seen the dog, who they eventually called Harper, multiple times. The rescuers estimated Harper to be approximately one year old and have lived in the Redlands for approximately five months. In addition, they observed numerous wounds on the dog’s head and back, which suggested she had been beaten and possibly used in dog fights.

Harper came out of hiding with five other dogs to investigate the food prepared by the rescuers. However, as soon as Harper approached them and got closer to the volunteers, she collapsed in panic and cowered on the ground.

At that instant, they understood that they had to get Harper out. Due to Harper’s fear, they decided against putting her in a crate and instead placed a towel on the floor for her. She was so afraid that she could not walk on her own and had to be carried.

As soon as the volunteers returned to Orlando, Harper was evaluated by a veterinarian. It was determined that the dog had anemia, a dental infection, and worms. And she was also expecting! While her medical issues were treatable, her emotional and psychological scars would require more time to heal.

Several days after her rescue, Harper was unable to even stand to eat. Every time a volunteer carried Harper so that she could eat or use the restroom, she held on as tightly as she could.

After Harper received the necessary medical attention, a woman named Cheryl Kessler took her in as a foster. Cheryl said that Harper gradually emerged from her shell, and that she now walks on her own, plays in the yard, and does zoomies when she’s in a playful mood.

All of Harper’s puppies were born healthy and gorgeous, and they quickly found new homes. As for Harper, the objective of the rescue facility was to find her a home of her own. She was successfully adopted soon after by a loving family!
